The free, self-guided architectural tour of Elgin buildings. Many historically significant buildings will open their doors for this one-day-only event to share their secrets. Now in its fourth year, you’ll discover unique architectural features, fascinating histories, behind-the-scenes access, and eye-opening elements brought to you by the Elgin Area Chamber in this annual event.

OpenElgin is a self-guided tour so you plan your own route on your timetable. Use this site to view the buildings that are featured on the tour, then download our map to plot your course. Each of the buildings on the tour will have a red OpenElgin flag at its entrance where you are welcome to enter and tour the building. Volunteers will also be stationed at each of the buildings who will help to answer your question and provide guidance.

OpenElgin partners with a number of community organizations and business owners to present this unique opportunity in the community. We are grateful for the collaboration to present this annual event!

GREAT JOB RAD! THANKS FOR SHARING.

The BUZZ

I remember going to Professional Building with my mother when I was little. Now my sister and I are vintage people and revisiting these old buildings brings back great memories.
